HN1911, the red colourway, is the original and most sought-after version — the deep, richly glazed red of the full skirt caught in movement being among the most visually commanding treatments in the Doulton lady figure range. The figure was modelled by Leslie Harradine, one of the most gifted and prolific of the Royal Doulton figure modellers, whose work across the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s defined the aesthetic of the HN series at its most accomplished. The Rd No 835666 and the production dates 1928–1959 appear on the backstamp, placing this example within the full production span of the model.
