Rare Antique Mayer & Sherratt Fine Bone China Trio – Circa 1906–1920, Stoke-on-Trent, England
A stunning and increasingly rare antique fine bone china trio by the respected English pottery firm Mayer & Sherratt, dating from the early 20th century (circa 1906–1920).
This beautifully preserved set showcases the refined craftsmanship and decorative elegance associated with the golden age of Staffordshire ceramics.
The trio features a richly detailed transferware pattern, exquisitely hand-finished in shades of green, black and warm orange, and further enhanced with delicate gold gilding. The harmonious palette and finely balanced design create a striking visual presence, embodying the decorative sophistication of the Edwardian era.
Mayer & Sherratt operated from Stafford Street, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, one of England’s most celebrated centres of ceramic production. After 1920 the factory continued under the name Melba China until 1941, making earlier Mayer & Sherratt pieces particularly desirable and collectible today.
Comprising teacup, saucer and side plate, this elegant trio is ideal for collectors of fine English bone china, antique tea wares, or those seeking a distinctive and refined addition to a curated display or afternoon tea setting.
