A charming and characterful antique sterling silver pepperette (possibly a salt shaker), hallmarked in Birmingham in 1922.

This elegant early 20th century table piece features a classic domed pierced lid with delicate floral-style perforations, allowing for graceful dispensing. The body is banded with subtle linear detailing, giving it a refined yet understated presence typical of the period.

The original cobalt blue glass liner remains intact — a particularly desirable feature. The deep blue interior would have provided both practical protection and a beautiful visual contrast against the silver, a detail much appreciated by collectors of antique condiment ware.

The maker’s mark is present but partially rubbed and indistinct. The Birmingham assay mark and date letter remain identifiable, confirming the 1922 hallmark.

Condition
The silver shows visible black spotting and areas of corrosion consistent with age and long-term use. This patination forms part of its antique character and has not been aggressively polished.

The cobalt blue glass liner is intact; however, it is not removable from the silver casing.
