There is a particular kind of mid-century confidence in objects that rely on colour alone to justify their place — and this is one of them.

Casa Pupo, established in London in 1960, built its reputation on importing continental decorative goods at a moment when British interiors were beginning to shift toward bolder, more expressive design. Among the most recognisable of these imports were pressed milk glass goblets in white and turquoise blue, produced in Southern Europe and sold through their Pimlico Road shop. The turquoise variant, with its saturated opacity, remains the less common and more visually assertive of the two.

The goblet is formed in pressed milk glass with an even, opaque turquoise tone throughout. The ovoid bowl is covered in a regular diamond hobnail pattern, giving a tactile surface that catches light without transparency. The rim is plain and slightly thickened. The stem is slender with a small knop, leading to a circular foot with radiating ribbing beneath. The overall effect is decorative rather than delicate — designed to be seen rather than examined.

Condition is very good. No chips or cracks. A light surface scratch to the interior of the bowl is visible under close inspection.
