A red stone broken and healed by the earth, set between two pale moons.

This cuff was made within the last five years by a local craftsperson in Sedgefield, on the Garden Route, for The Dancing Faun Antiques. The stones were chosen and supplied by The Dancing Faun Antiques and set by the maker. Brecciated jasper is characterised by fragments of stone bound together by mineral material, creating its distinctive broken patterns and contrasting veins. Moonstone is a feldspar known for its soft, milky glow.

The cuff is open at the back. Brass rails run above and below, with copper rods and a twisted copper and brass strand between them. At the front, an oval brecciated jasper cabochon sits in a brass bezel, deep red broken by cream veining. On either side is a round moonstone cabochon in soft grey-cream, also set in brass. The ends finish in brass caps.

Excellent condition. Made for The Dancing Faun Antiques and never worn.

Collector Appeal

A one-off made in Sedgefield for The Dancing Faun Antiques. The strongly patterned red jasper, framed by two quiet moonstones, gives this cuff a different character from the other Sedgefield cuffs in the shop. The open construction of rails and twisted strand leaves the handwork in view.

Whatever broke the jasper also gave it its pattern.
