Franz built its reputation on the proposition that a functional object need not choose between use and wonder — and the spoon is where that argument is made most economically.

Franz Collection was established in Taiwan in 1993 and is recognised internationally for porcelain that combines functional tableware with three-dimensional sculptural decoration, each piece individually hand-painted using lead-free glazes. The Delicate Daisy series extends the Franz design philosophy into a simpler, more restrained idiom than the Papillon range — the single open daisy bloom and leaf forms providing an organic handle that reads as naturalistic rather than decorative.

The spoon is of slender elongated form with a shallow oval bowl graduating from cream to pale celadon green along the handle. The handle is formed as a green-glazed stem with a small circular aperture, rising to a spread of applied green leaves surmounted by a single open daisy bloom — white petals with a yellow centre, finely detailed. The underside of the bowl carries the blue underglaze Franz mark and red seal stamp.

There are no chips, cracks, or paint loss. The spoon is intact throughout.
