Glass remembers the breath that made it — every bubble a pause, every loop a decision taken in the few seconds before the heat is gone.

This is a substantial hand-blown glass paperweight of organic, irregularly domed form. The body is composed of clear glass encasing a dense cobalt blue mass that rises from the base and diffuses upward into the clear upper body, the two materials meeting in a fluid, unplanned boundary. Throughout the clear glass, a series of controlled decorative inclusions are suspended: elongated teardrop forms, open loop and spiral formations, and smaller isolated bubbles, each captured at different depths within the body.

The effect, when the piece is turned in light, is one of constant visual shift — the internal elements alter in apparent position, and the cobalt blue reads differently from every angle, at times concentrated and opaque, at others luminous and dispersed.

The surface carries a series of deliberate worked indentations across the upper body, introduced during the forming process and integral to the design. The base is ground flat and frosted, with a central cobalt inclusion clearly visible from below. The piece is unsigned and carries no maker's mark or label. Origin and maker are unconfirmed; the form, weight, and internal working technique are consistent with later 20th-century studio glass production.

There are no chips or cracks. The surface indentations are as made. The piece is in sound condition throughout.
