There is a particular quality to jewellery made entirely by hand — a weight, a warmth, and a slight individuality in every line that no machine-produced piece can replicate. This cuff bangle has all of that. Conceived, constructed and finished by a local South African artisan as a single, unrepeatable piece, it exists in exactly one form, for exactly one owner.

The construction is solid copper and brass throughout — two metals chosen not just for their visual contrast but for the way they interact with each other and with the stones set into them. The main body of the bangle is built from three parallel brass rails running the full circumference of the cuff, open-backed and substantial in feel, giving the piece a strong architectural quality. Threading through and between these rails runs a woven copper braid — hand-twisted and interlaced with evident skill — which introduces warmth, movement and texture against the cooler brass. The combination of the two metals creates a tonal range that shifts between deep copper rose, warm gold and rich amber depending on the light, and will continue to develop and deepen character as the metals age naturally with wear.

Set into this framework are three natural stone cabochons, each chosen for its own distinct personality and each bezel-set in brass with confident, clean workmanship. The centrepiece — and the visual anchor of the entire bangle — is a generously sized oval brecciated jasper cabochon of considerable drama: deep terracotta red fractured by cream and ivory veining in a bold, geological pattern that reads differently from every angle. Brecciated jasper is formed when jasper is broken apart by natural tectonic forces and recemented over time by silica — meaning the pattern in this stone is literally the record of ancient geological events, unique to this single piece of earth. Flanking the jasper symmetrically on either side of the bangle are two moonstone cabochons of soft translucent cream — smooth, luminous and quietly glowing against the warm metal — which balance the jasper's drama with a cooler, more meditative presence. The three stones work together with a pleasing visual logic: the jasper commands the centre with colour and pattern, while the moonstones frame it with calm.

The terminal ends of the cuff are finished with squared brass caps — clean and deliberate, giving the open ends a resolved, considered finish rather than the raw cut look of lesser handmade work. The overall proportions are generous without being heavy — this wears as a statement piece on any wrist, male or female, and sits with equal ease against a shirt cuff, a linen sleeve or bare skin.
