Victoriana Rose was introduced by Royal Albert in 1966, at a moment when the great Staffordshire names were consolidating under larger groups and the market for romantic English rose patterns remained as steady as ever. The Paragon name appearing alongside Royal Albert on the backstamp reflects the absorption of Paragon China into the Royal Albert stable under the Doulton group during this period — a co-branding that represents a specific and relatively brief window of production and carries interest for collectors of both marques. The pattern itself looks deliberately backwards: scattered sprays of small pink roses on a warm ivory bone china ground, contained within a heavily gilded scalloped rim, invoke the romantic florals of the high Victorian and Edwardian table with considerable conviction. Five matching trios in mint unused condition is a find of genuine substance — sets of this completeness and condition are not often encountered outside original household stock.

The exterior carries scattered sprays of pink roses in varying sizes, with green foliage, distributed continuously around the body; the interior carries a single rose spray at the base and a broad gilt rim. The saucer is of circular form with a gadrooned and scalloped edge, the well carrying rose sprays in a loose ring, the rim heavily gilded. The side plate shares the same gadrooned scalloped outline as the saucer, with rose sprays distributed across the well and a matching broad gilt rim. Across all fifteen pieces the gilding is characteristically generous — broad, bright, and applied with the particular richness associated with the Paragon production tradition. The bone china body is a clean warm ivory throughout.

All fifteen pieces across all five trios present in mint unused condition. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing on any piece. The gilding is fully intact and bright on all cups, saucers, and plates with no wear, rubbing, or loss.
