A hand raised to the brim of a hat: the first warm day of the year, held still in bone china.

Each year Royal Doulton’s International Collectors Club issued a figure to its members. ‘Spring Time’, HN 4586, was the club’s membership figure for 2004, modelled by Nada Pedley.

The figure shows a young woman in a full-skirted lemon-yellow gown with a sweetheart neckline and gathered cap sleeves, the skirt swept back as if caught by a breeze. One hand rises to the brim of a wide pale-yellow hat trimmed with pink, blue and yellow flowers. The other holds a small yellow drawstring bag. The base is printed with the Royal Doulton International Collectors Club backstamp, the title and HN number, Nada Pedley’s signature and “© 2003 Royal Doulton”. The figure still carries its Royal Doulton International Collectors Club swing tag.
