Valori | Sterling Silver Photo Frame | Scroll Border | Blue Velvet Back | Italy
A frame asks for nothing but the right face to fill it.
Silver-fronted photograph frames have long been made with a decorative sheet of silver mounted over a supporting structure. Italian examples often combine polished silver surfaces with pressed ornamental borders and fabric-covered backs. This frame carries the Valori name on its original card insert.
The rounded rectangular frame has a broad, polished sterling silver front surrounding a smaller opening edged with a raised scroll-pattern border. Its blue velvet-covered back has an easel support and a metal turn-clip for changing the photograph. The frame can stand in portrait or landscape orientation, and the original Valori card is still inside.
Very good condition. There are some scratches and light surface wear to the silver.

Collector Appeal
The Valori card is still inside the frame, preserving its original presentation. The contrast between the broad polished silver front and the raised scroll border gives this small piece its character, and the velvet easel back lets it stand in either portrait or landscape orientation.
Every photograph is a moment kept; the frame decides how it is shown.
