There is a particular restraint to Haworth that separates it from the more insistent florals in the Royal Albert canon — and that restraint is precisely its strength.

Introduced in 1982, 'Haworth' is among the quieter achievements in Royal Albert's extensive pattern history. Where many of the marque's designs announce themselves with dense colour and bold repeat, Haworth proceeds differently: large, open wild rose blooms — white petals flushed with the palest pink, stamens picked out in red — are arranged in loose, naturalistic sprays across a clean white bone china ground, accompanied by foliage rendered in soft sage, grey-green, and warm brown. Smaller buds and trailing branches extend the composition without crowding it. The effect is closer to botanical illustration than decorative flourish, and is all the more lasting for it.

The form is the classic Royal Albert scalloped shape with the characteristically elegant scrolled handle, trimmed throughout with a fine gold line to rim, foot, and the edge of each plate and saucer. The interior of the cup carries a smaller floral spray, visible when the cup is raised — a considered detail that rewards attention.
