Royal Albert | 'Windsor Rose' | Bone China Cake Plate | England | 1982 or Later

Blue roses gathered round the rim, leaving the centre clear for whatever is brought to the table.

'Windsor Rose' is a Royal Albert pattern of blue roses and foliage set against white bone china, finished with gilt edging and moulded details. The backstamp carries a 1982 copyright date, so the pattern dates from 1982 or later.

The plate is round, with a gently fluted, scalloped border and two opposed integral handles outlined in gilt scrollwork. Sprays of blue roses and foliage are arranged around the border, leaving the centre largely plain. A fine gilt line follows the shaped rim. The backstamp shows a blue rose spray above "Royal Albert Bone China England", with "Windsor Rose © Royal Albert Ltd 1982" below.

The plate is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration, and minimal wear to the gilding.

Collector Appeal

The gently fluted border gives the plate its distinctive outline, while the blue roses provide a quiet contrast against the white bone china. The integral handles and gilt scrollwork set it apart from an ordinary round plate, making it a useful companion to other pieces in the 'Windsor Rose' service.

Other 'Windsor Rose' pieces from the shop: coffee pot, pot warmer, milk jug, oval platter and open sugar bowl.

Blue roses need no season; here, they have been given a place at the table.
