The Windsor pattern was never flashy about what it was — it simply set the table and let the bone china speak.

Tuscan China was produced by R.H. & S.L. Plant Ltd of Longton, Staffordshire, a firm with roots in the mid-nineteenth century that built its reputation on fine bone china of consistent quality. The Windsor pattern exemplifies their mid-century output — a formal Rococo-revival design combining deep crimson cartouches, richly worked gold acanthus scrollwork, and scattered polychrome floral bouquets on a white ground. The winged crown backstamp in green, with "Tuscan Fine English Bone China / Made in England" and the pattern name in pink, dates this set to the period approximately 1947–1966, placing it firmly in the post-war decade when Tuscan were producing some of their most accomplished work for the domestic and export markets.

The set comprises thirteen pieces: a tall coffee pot with lid, an open sugar bowl, a cream jug, a square wavy-edged cake plate, and four demitasse cups with saucers. The coffee pot is of generous upright form on a footed base, with a long tapering spout and a scrolled handle picked out in gold; the domed lid carries a round white knop with gold detail at its collar. The decoration on the pot is arranged in two registers — a broad crimson and gold Rococo band encircling the shoulder, with pink lattice cartouches and gold acanthus scrolls, and a large loose floral spray across the lower body featuring pink roses, blue forget-me-nots, red dahlias and yellow flowers. The cream jug is round-bellied on a footed base with a scrolled gold handle and a shaped pouring lip; the open sugar bowl is of similar rotund form. The cake plate is square with deeply wavy edges and gilded rim, carrying the full crimson Rococo border and a central medallion of roses and blue flowers within a gold chain border. The cups are footed with scrolled handles, decorated inside with the crimson and gold border at the rim and a floral bouquet at the centre; the saucers carry the full border design with additional scattered bouquets. The interior glaze of the coffee pot is a natural light greenish-grey — consistent with the bone china body of this period and indicative of an unused piece.

Condition is excellent. No chips, cracks, or crazing to any piece. The gilding across all thirteen pieces — spout, handle, rim lines, scrollwork, knop collar, and cup feet — is in superb condition with no loss or wear. The set presents as unused.
